A first-time collaboration between two extraordinary artists who left deep impressions on the Argentinian culture, poet Horacio Ferrer and composer Astor Piazzola. This tango operetta leads us deep into the soul of the "Queen of La Plata," at whose heart reigns the beautiful Maria. Born "one day when God was drunk," this untameable fury throws herself into the city life, the dance, and the arms of men. Melancholy, violence and desire – heaven and hell embrace in the nightly underworld of Buenos Aires, where the tango inflames bodies possessed by the music. Matias Tripodi, dancer, educator and passionate tango expert, is the choreographer and stage director of this new production. Together with "Beatrix Cenci," "Maria de Buenos Aires" is the headlining event of our Arsmondo Argentina festival.
