Biography

Gezim Myshketa was born in Albania and graduated at the Arrigo Boito Music Conservatory in Parma under the guidance of Giuliano Ciannella and Lelio Capilupi. He made his debut as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro under the baton of Antonello Allemandi. In 2006, he won the As.Li.Co. competition, making his debut as Leporello in Don Giovanni on a tour in Italy and at the Opéra de Massy. He then won the "Francesco Paolo Tosti" Chamber Music International Competition in Ortona (Italy).

At the beginning of his career, Mr. Myshketa performed: Orphée et Eurydice (Amore -- La Guida) and L'Elisir d'Amore in Bologna and in Rome under Bruno Campanella; Le Villi and Arrighetto in Novara; Iris, Madama Butterfly, Trouble in Tahiti and Maria Stuarda in Trieste; Die Lustige Witwe (Danilo) in Genoa and in Verona (Teatro Filarmonico); Le Nozze di Figaro (Conte d'Almaviva) and Don Giovanni in Palm Beach; Giulio Cesare in Egitto in Bilbao; Zaira and Semiramide in Montpellier; Rodelinda (Garibaldo) at the Valle d'Itria Festival in Martina Franca; and Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

Mr. Myshketa collaborated with such renowned conductors as Bruno Aprea, Philippe Auguin, Frédéric Chaslin, Diego Fasolis, Michele Mariotti, Will Humburg, Daniel Oren and Nello Santi; and such directors as Daniele Abbado, Robert Carsen, Giancarlo del Monaco, Dante Ferretti, Pierluigi Pizzi and Graham Vick.

Amongst his past engagement it is worth mentioning: Maria Stuarda in Piacenza and Modena; Le Convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali (Biscroma) and I Pazzi per Progetto (Venanzio) in Zurich; Cléopatre at the Salzburg Festival; I Puritani and Le Villiin Bratislav; Carmen (Escamillo) in Novara, St. Gallen, Seoul, Stuttgart, Berlin and at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; La Gazza Ladra in Verona; Gianni Schicchi in Trieste and Pordenone; La Battaglia di Legnano (Rolando) at the Teatro Regio in Parma in the frame of the Festival Verdi; L'Elisir d'Amore in Massy; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Treviso and Ferrara; Ali Pascha von Janina in Tirana; Don Carlo in Toulouse; Turandot in Cagliari; Il Viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad; and recitals in Rome and in Berlin. Gezim Myshketa recently gained great successes singing: Lord Enrico Ashton in Lucia di Lammermoor in Marseille; Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore, Lord Guglielmo Cecil in Maria Stuarda and Fra Melitone in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona; Don Giovanni (title role) in a new production by Graham Vick for the AsLiCo circuit on tour in Italy; La Traviata in Hamburg and Leipzig; Turandot in Toulouse; Simon Boccanegra (Paolo Albiani) in Antwerp; Ezio in Attila at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna for the opening of the season (2016), Michele Mariotti conducting and Daniele Abbado directing. Mr. Myshketa recently returns to the Teatro Comunale in Bologna were he made his exciting debut as Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, again under the baton of Michele Mariotti, he also starred in Simon Boccanegra (Paolo Albiani) at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, in La Rondine at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse; Madama Butterfly and Lucia di Lammermoor in Leipzig;

After his successful debut as Ford in Falstaff at the Staatsoper in Stuttgart, Mr. Myshketa started a prolific collaboration with this opera house, where recently sang in Le Nozze di Figaro, I Puritani, La Traviata La Bohème, Falstaff, Carmen, I Puritani, Faust, Le Nozze di Figaro, and where in the next months he will be engaged in revivals ofFaust and I Puritani. Other future plans include: La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème and Carmen in Leipzig; Pagliacci on tour with the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome in Oman; Beatrix Cenci at the Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg; Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci in Graz; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Cagliari; Cavalleria Rusticana at the Teatro Regio in Turin.
