To launch the opera season with flair, the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Matthew Straw – a graduate of the Opéra Studio – are joined by the charismatic tenor Michael Spyres. These gifted artists engage in a dynamic call-and-response, bringing to life memorable moments from the Romantic and Post-Romantic repertoire. Their program features stirring excerpts from masterpieces by luminaries like Wagner, Massenet, Bizet, Korngold, and Richard Strauss. This concert will also mark the premiere of Matthew Straw’s suites: arrangements of Wagner’s music, designed to introduce it to as wide an audience as possible.
