Presentation
It’s 1860. As Sicily is turned upside down by the uprising led by Garibaldi and his redshirts, the Prince of Salina takes his family to their summer palace in Donnafugata. Foreseeing the fall of the aristocracy, he agrees to the marriage between his nephew Tancredi and the mayor’s daughter, who comes from the rising middle class.
