Presentation
The Mediterranean has been a place of exchange and movement for centuries. Three judges from the European Court of Human Rights reflect on the rich heritage of this region that stands at the crossroads between civilizations and faces many challenges today.
They address the Mediterranean’s relationship with human rights through a range of topics: the spiritual heritage from Istanbul to the Vatican and the place of religion in the public sphere; the pursuit of gender equality and the protection of minorities; coexistence and integration in societies; and lands of immigration.
The debate will be illustrated live by the cartoonist Piet.
