Presentation

A francophone author, theatre director, and actor, Wajdi Mouawad is the director of the Théâtre National de la Colline in Paris. He is a highly regarded playwright on the French-speaking and international theatre scenes, a reputation earned by dint of his original voice and the complexity of the themes he explores, in which the contemporary world and myth, kinship and history, the power of images, and his attention to the intimate are intertwined through his words. His works have been translated into 20 languages. He is about to publish three new plays: Les larmes d'Œdipe, Inflammation du verbe vivre, and Une chienne.
