Biography

Born in Argentina in 1963, Claudio Larrea studied journalism and art history in Buenos Aires and then audiovisual techniques in Madrid. In 1986 he began his professional career as an art director for graphic and audiovisual projects (Rolling Stone y Cosmopolitan magazine). In 2001 he moved to Barcelona, where he continued his professional activity (Artistic Director of Kyle Minogue's music video "Slow"). In 2010, he returned to Buenos Aires and began a photographic survey of the city, which led him to develop a personal view of the architecture of Buenos Aires. Between the implicit geometry of forms and obsession for details, his visual universe reinvents a past of a cosmopolitan city like Buenos Aires. As a result of this research, he presents the series "El amante de Buenos Aires" and "República de Waires". In 2017, he participated in the exhibition "How to read Pato Pascual" (Pacific Standard Time-Getty Foundation in Los Angeles). He has received numerous mentions in Argentina in Salon Nacional de Arte, Salon Nacional de Fotografia, and the Bienal de Arte x Arte among others. Currently he is again installed in Barcelona.
