Biography

Christina Cecchini was born in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, and began her ballet training at the Dance Gallery with Maureen Duggan. At age 13, she was admitted to the Professional Ballet Program of the National Ballet School of Canada, where she subsequently graduated from the Professional Program and the Post-Secondary Program. Since 2007 Christina has toured Western Canada with the National Ballet of Canada and has been selected to represent Les Grands Ballets Canadiens at the Banff Center. She has danced with the Kelowna Ballet, the Grands Ballets Canadiens, the New English Ballet Theater, the English National Ballet, the Tivoli Ballet Theater and the Viviana Durante Company. She has danced classic roles such as, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Besides the classics, she has participated in numerous creations with choreographers such as Joy Alpuerto Ritter, Yuri Possokhov, Gioconda Barbuto, Andrew Mcnicol and Erico Montes. She is also a teacher of pilates, barre and ballet. She joined the Ballet de l'OnR in June 2020.
