Music should be considered a social phenomenon bringing into play different components of a society or group and informing us about the relationships between them and how a society is organised. Even so, the figures of the male Roma musician and the female Roma dancer are deserving of analysis. What is the significance of the representations of the act of performing music in the Roma community? Who are the true musicians? The men? The women?
