This piece for young audiences originates from the eponymous book by Davide Calì and Sonja Bougaeva. It tells the endearing story of young Abigail, who is handicapped by her body. Her weight and figure are the subject of cruel remarks from the girls in her class. This social attitude is enforced by the brutal language of children. For Marlène, going to the pool is an ordeal: she is the laughing stock of her classmates because each of her dives causes an enormous wave... To the point that in everyone's eyes only a nickname is needed: Abigail the Whale ("Marlène Baleine" in French). But one day, the lifeguard slips a thing in her ear that works wonders. The story takes a lighthearted turn. The dangers that paralyze her disappear. Marlène transforms and flourishes by accepting that she is much more than her looks. Renaissance musical pieces accompany Anna Wenzel's libretto. Director Bérénice Collet presents a show for children aged 5 and over.
