Biography

Born in Lebanon and raised in Canada, she studied at the University of Ottawa and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. She is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera. She is the winner of several competitions (Loren L. Zachary, Opera Index, George London Foundation, Mario Lanza ...). She sang Mimi and Musetta (La Bohème) at the Canadian Opera Company, the title role of Rusalka at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Micaela (Carmen) at the Santa Fe Festival, Violetta (La traviata) at the Korean National Opera, Kansas City Opera, in Toronto and at the Savonlinna festival, Marguerite (Faust) at the Opera Camerata in Washington, Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at the Austin Lyric Opera, Musetta (La Bohème) in Amsterdam, Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) in Vancouver, Pauline (The Martyrs of Donizetti) with Opera Rara at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the title role of Maria Stuarda of Donizetti in Seattle. She sang Leila (Les Pêcheurs de perles) at the Opéra national de Bordeaux where she was also Imogene (Il pirata), Liù (Turandot) in Philadelphia and Salomé (Hérodiade by Massenet) in Washington, Musetta (La Bohème) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and she participated in the creation of Great Scott by Jack Heggie in San Diego. She made her debut with the Orchester de Paris in Rossini's Stabat Mater under the direction of Jesús López-Cobos, has given concerts in Austria with Elīna Garanča and in Spain with Juan Diego Flórez. Recently, she sang the roles of Tatiana (Eugène Onéguine) in Ottawa, Mimì (La Bohème) at Opera Australia, Elisabetta (Roberto Devereux) at Welsh National Opera, Violetta (La traviata) in Glyndebourne and at the ROH Covent Garden in London, Musetta (La Bohème) directed by Richard Jones at the Teatro Real and in Covent Garden. In concert, she opened the NDR Symphony season with a gala concert and made her debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. She has taken part in the world premieres of L'Ange de Nisida by Donizetti (Covent Garden) and Sardanapalo by Liszt with the Weimar Staatskapelle. In 2019/20, she sang notably Liù (Turandot) at the Canadian Opera Company and the title role of Iphigénie en Tauride in Stuttgart. She made her debut at the OnR.
