Choir composition

Pre-maîtrise (7-9 years)
It comprises a maximum of 20 boys and girls.

Two rehearsals per week
• Monday from 17:00 to 18:00
• Wednesday from 17:00 to 18:00

i.e. 2 hrs per week

The children's choir (10-13 years)
Two rehearsals per week:
• Monday 1hr for the sopranos
• Monday 1hr for the altos
• Wednesday 2¼ hrs for the sopranos
• Wednesdays 2¼ hrs for the altos
• 1hr of vocal technique (optional class)

i.e. 3¼ hrs or per week

To be admitted, children must obviously be motivated and also have a voice that can progress well.

Teenage choir (14-18 years)
This comprises 20 boys and girls

Two to three rehearsals a week:
• Wednesday from 18:00 to 20:00
• Friday from 18:15 to 20:15
• 1hr vocal technique class (optional)
• 2 Saturdays per month: from 14:00 to 16:30

i.e. 5 hrs per week

Applicants must be at least 14 years old, strongly motivated, have a voice that is already settled and be able to cope with new scores fast (the ability to read music is an advantage).

Men's choir
(Boys whose voices have broken, men with experience in choral singing, fathers of choir singers)
It comprises a maximum of 20 men

• Wednesday: work with the children's and teenage choir (2 hrs) then a rehearsal per voice section (½ hr)
• 1 Saturday per month from 14:00 to 16:30 for more specific vocal work and reading new scores

i.e. 3 hrs per week

To attain a full level of satisfaction for everyone, it is obviously necessary that each choir member should be present at all the rehearsals and other activities (concerts, operas, tours etc.). Nothing is optional. Each choir member is as important for the entire choir as his/her neighbour.
A child may be absent for rare but important reasons. Should this arise, the family must write a short note to be handed in to the Director at the following rehearsal.
An attendance register is called for all choir members at each rehearsal and three non-justified absences automatically leads to the exclusion of the singer.

The activity of choir members - notably for the children's choir and teenage choir - is not compatible with a long list of other leisure activities. Please take this into consideration before applying.
